Clean Eating And Crockpot Freezer Meals

One of the reasons people often eat out & eat unhealthily is because they have nothing prepared when they are hungry and hangry minds often lead to unhealthy choices.

I often get asked what's the best way to eat healthily and the solution to that is -- Meal Planning!

Here are my 3 steps to eating healthy -

  • Step 1 - Plan Out your meals - Menu planning are truly the key to success in healthy eating. Prepping will take the guesswork out of your busy week so you can take control, PLAN & execute.

  • Step 2 - Grocery Shopping - Shop for all your groceries & produce for the next week the weekend prior. Make a menu (refer to step 1), make a list, and STICK TO IT when you go shopping. Don't BUY anything that's NOT on the list.

    • Bonus Tip - Have a healthy snack before you go to the store. You know what happens when you go to the store hungry...you buy a bunch of stuff you DON'T need!

  • Step 3 - Prep your meals - Prepping your food in advance will take the guesswork out of it & instead of staring at the fridge full of produce with no idea what to cook, you'll simply grab the bag, heat & eat! 

Start slow, take baby steps. If you are new to meal planning, cooking an entire week's worth can seem daunting. Prep for two days in advance (you could actually cook your meals, or just prep produce, portion out your snacks, etc.) Ease into it and then repeat!  If you’re a pro, you can prep all 5 freezer meals and make the week a breeze!

Here are some meal prepping tips that I personally use on a weekly basis -

  • cut/season meat,

  • smoothie bags - these are amazing! Throw your fruit into baggies, label with date, and freeze

  • wash/chop/portion produce

  • prep/portion your snacks, throw into baggies, and label

  • lettuce/greens - cut, wash, spin dry - store in a baggie n fridge with paper towel to keep fresh
